Hi - I’m CJ, the Creative Owner and Leader of CJ Design’s Art.

For many years my career in finance was a very left-brained skillset leaving me drained and unsatisfied with my work. My strong creative right-brained side kept pushing me to escape into the magic imaginative creative world of watercolor painting, card making and ad design.

When I pick up a paintbrush and let the bristles wander on the paper, allowing the pigment to mingle with water, I’m always amazed at the beauty that just happens on the paper. It soothes my soul and makes me feel boundless energy and happiness.

My pets; dogs (and formerly cats) are my world. I look at them with such awe. I love their unconditional love and their all-knowing empathy when they can’t even speak my language, they just know what I need. They helped me realize I wanted to paint pet portraits to preserve the joy pets bring to our lives.
